Exploring New Heights

Happy New Years!!  For some reason I have become fascinated by hot air balloons recently — something about the majestic poise and enigmatic nature of them spins me into curiosity and wonder.  I’ve never actually riden in one, but would love to some day.  Back in October I went to the Celina Balloon Festival just outside of Dallas to see the nighttime balloon glow.  I snapped a few pics in between nose sniffles and hot chocolate runs (it was a cooooold night!).  Oddly enough, this past week while surfing the web I noticed hot air balloon references in fashion campaigns for J. Crew and Louis Vuitton.  So awesome that I HAD to share…

The bright color and patterns of the J.Crew images are a welcome pop highlighting a resort-style collection.  LOVE these.  The Louis Vuitton campaign features a video that has a romantic wanderlust feel, making anyone want to Google “hot air balloon rides” (while looking fabulously chic, of course!).

Here are some of my own snapshots from the Celina Balloon Festival.  Maybe slightly less romantic than Vuitton, but a girl can dream…
